If half of your trip had to be good food, and the other half mediocre, I guess it’s good to have your mediocre food in the beginning half. This meal marked the turning point – the final mediocre meal.

Sanraku is one of the few sit-down places in the Metreon. That makes it cooler. We got a platter with nigiri and rolls. They were delicate, small pieces, which was aesthetically pleasing. We also got some sort of roll, which was beautiful, and I loved eating the lemon rind with it. It would have been even MORE delicious with a fattier piece of salmon.

In other news, my food photography has vastly improved. Compare the shot above to this one, of virtually the same roll. What a difference seven months (EXACTLY!) makes!

I can’t believe that was considered mediocre! It looks fantastic – I love sushi rolls covered in sashimi!

It’s because it’s inherently beautiful. I’ve done the same ( hamachi ) and I’m no pro. Or maybe our love of sushi translates into the photos!

I’m lying in bed, nursing an enormous hang-over and yet, that still looks damn delicious… Well done!
